A quiet country retreat, Marsh Farm is situated amidst grass and clover meadows close to a meandering stream in the heart of the Waveney valley. Parties of around 21 can be accommodated in this wonderful Grade II listed farmhouse and the adjacent thatched cottage, both of which look out over the sunny courtyard garden with fragrant herbs, cottage garden planting and quiet seating areas. To the west is a large expanse of lawn with shrubberies, ancient trees and views out over the countryside and a wonderful terrace with barbecue and large seating area.

Corporate Visitors

For companies looking for a venue for team building, a business get-together, conference, or strategy development meetings there is the option to sleep 10 people, each in their own room or 14 in separate beds. The combination of The Farmhouse and the Thatched Cottage gives the larger party an abundance of space for eating and meeting together as well as several smaller withdrawing rooms for quiet conversation or relaxation. The second dining room is easily converted to a planning and conference room.

Business packages

Grocery deliveries, catering, coference stationery and equipment hire, delegate collections service. Activity and team building packages and full facilitations service.

Things to Do

Despite its rural location there are fantastic opportunities for activities. Bike hire is available and bikes can be delivered and fitted for you at the farm. Close by is an excellent golf course, flying trips and lessons can be arranged and there are opportunities for clay pigeon shooting, pro-karting and boating. Suffolk's Heritage coastline encompassing Lowestoft's Blue Flag beach, genteel Southwold and Dunwich are all within a short drive. Nearest shop and pub 2 miles: Marsh Farm is just 3 miles from the imposing tower of the ancient church at Beccles, whose street names, Saltgate, Northgate, Smallgate and Hungate hint at the fortifications which once surrounded the town. Beccles is home to an excellent range of restaurants, shops and pubs, their Georgian facades disguising many of its ancient buildings which nestle along the banks of the lower Waveney River. Here you can explore the lovely reed-fringed waterways of The Broads and their abundant wildlife. For those seeking some culture The Old Granary Studio, Toft Monks, Beccles is a beautiful venue where you can enjoy a variety of musical offerings, occasionally with dinner. Theatres and concert halls well worth a visit include the newly restored Fisher Theatre in Bungay, the Cut in Halesworth and the Snape Maltings Concert Hall, near Aldeburgh.
