This superbly proportioned, traditional brick fronted mid Victorian town house lies in the heart of the Southwold conservation area. Reached through a gated private passageway from the street which opens onto the courtyard garden, the conservatory and thence through the hall and up to the first floor where lie the large and comfortable reception rooms. Central heating ensures it is warm and cosy in winter, and with large sash windows, many with sea views, the house is light and airy in summer.
Really well situated it is just a short stroll from arguably the best pub in town and close to both the beach and the high street. With sea views, a superb drawing room and beautiful furnishings throughout this makes an ideal property for a long lazy holiday or a weekend reunion with friends or family.
Home to Adnams brewery, Southwold boasts some of the best pubs as well as the best beers in the country. With a constant supply of fresh fish its restaurants are excellent. Add to this the newly renovated pier, a sandy beach, its brightly coloured beach huts all overlooked by the Southwold lighthouse and you are in for a treat whatever time of the year you might choose to visit. One of the most desirable holiday destinations in the country, Southwold has become a popular destination for the famous. Often described in the press as 'Hampstead on Sea' it is a frequent backdrop for films and TV dramas - much of the award winning film Iris was shot there. A popular haunt for artists and writers it is well known for its autumn literary festival and summer theatre.
